High Tech on the Hill

Besides having a computer which is almost 4 years old now and a cellphone, I really am not high tech at all. Heck until Christmas time I was still listening to my audio books via CD on a ghetto blaster!
Enter Santa in the form of he who pays the bills. Yes good old Santa tucked an Ipod touch into the bottom of my stocking. Squeezed right in there under the peppermint bark, scratch tickets and woolly socks!

It took me a good week to work that I needed to install a wifi router to get it working to it's full potential. But having done that and figuring out how to download books, I AM IN HEAVEN! This thing is the bomb!! I can now lie in bed and listen to my books at all hours without waking the buzz saw (he who pays the bills). I have very fitful nights and now I don't have to toss and turn or leave my bed to go read in another room. yay!

I have also purchased a thing called a docking station. Of course you all know what that is, just like I did (NOT). This docking station thingy lives down in my basement studio and my ipod just attaches right to it so that I can listen to it without the ear buds. Woohoo! Now I can work away and listen to my books. I am stoked to say the least! Another good thing, my lovely big soft comfy Sony headphones also fit this little gadget. another WOOHOO.
Saving the best bit till last. I can also get all my emails, facebook messages and etsy convo's from anywhere in the house, in bed, in the dungeon, wherever, unlike my so called Blueberry that only works when I stand in the snow on the right corner of the deck with one foot in the air and my right hand on my head.
Yes as you can see I am a very happy INan!
Ooroo for now..

I could picture you on your deck - sounds like my son on his mt. - I always tell him to stick his pinky out when he fades away.

Great for you! I'm still in the dark ages with technology...I have a flip cell phone. It works. I got a Kindle Touch for Christmas and love it.

You are way ahead of me in tech world. I'm in the stone age. My nephews call me Wilma!

Honestly, I have no idea what a docking station is. I still have my portable C.D. Player. lol but I feel you.

Congrats on scoring the cool iPod from Santa! I love mine too—it's always with me when I'm outside at the torch making beads too! ;-D

How exciting. Congratulations on getting it up and going. I still can't get email on my Kindle Fire. They don't recognize my server. (weeping)

My laptop is in really bad shape. Missing keys and everything. My husband wants to get me an ipad but that is like a HUGE dream for someday. Maybe a phone...mines still a flip phone.

WOW! Congrats on becoming "technologically advanced." I too have experienced the standing on the desk, jumping on the bed, and hanging out the bathroom window to get a signal! Enjoy your iPod.

Haha, on the desk with your left toe ... I tried a friend's iTouch and it took me 2 hours to type in my etsy shop. Not for me.

Have fun with your new toy.

Congrats on such an awesome gift! I got an iphone a few months ago and it's pretty much like an ipod (except you can call people) and I love being able to read books and listen to almost anything I want! It's amazing! :)
